Responsibility

At Koito Czech s.r.o. we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment. That is why we already implemented and we have been constantly developing an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001:2015. This international standard helps us effectively manage the environmental aspects of our production, minimize environmental impacts and increase the efficiency of our processes at the same time.

1. Reducing the environmental footprint

We monitor and optimize energy consumption (electricity, natural gas, water)
We manage waste efficiently - we consistently sort waste, not only plastic and dangerous waste, but also paper, iron, aluminum, and electrical waste. We also ensure its buyback or ecological disposal.
We introduce energy-saving production technologies that reduce emissions and raw materials consumption.

2. Pollution prevention and responsible management of chemicals

We regularly control and minimize emissions from stationary heat sources and water-based paints.
We have strict rules for chemicals storing, preventing their leakage.
We monitor and manage wastewater quality in accordance with the Czech and EU legislation.

3. Energy efficiency and innovation

We implement energy measurement and management systems that allow us to achieve 10% annual energy savings.
We constantly seek innovative way to reduce the environmental impact of production.
We use waste heat from water heating and heating technologies (heat pump).

4. Responsibility to employees and the community

We ensure a safe working environment, minimizing risks associated with the management of chemicals and waste.
We regularly train our employees in environmental management so that they are an active part of sustainable change.
We support regional initiatives focused on nature protection and environmental education.

CERTIFICATION AND COMMITMENT TO Continuous improvement

The recertification audit in our company in 2024 confirmed that the environmental management system is fully functional and effective. The management of Koito Czech s.r.o. remains committed to further improving of our environmental activities and to continuous optimizing of our processes in order to minimize environmental impacts.

Thanks to these steps, we not only meet legislative requirements, but also contribute to sustainable development and environmentally responsible business. Environmental protection is a priority to us, not an obligation.

Carbon neutrality

The global Koito Manufacturing group, which Koito Czech s.r.o. is a part of, has set a goal to reduce CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030 compared to 2013. Another goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The company is committed to promoting environmentally friendly business activities. Koito also focuses on reduction of the environmental impact of its activities throughout the product life cycle.

All the goals listed below are implemented within the framework of the current environmental management policy and in accordance with the ISO 14001:2015 standard, which has been followed by our company since 2010.

1. Reducing CO2 emissions :

Reduce CO2 emissions by 50% compared to 2013 levels by 2030.
Achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

2. Reducing the burden on the environment:

Reducing the amount of hazardous substances in products and production processes.
